Hi, I can't get my S3Drive to startup anymore after upgrading my Macos to Sequoia 15.0.1.

Hi, Thanks for your report. Can you please confirm that you use .DMG release? We will try to provide new build later today which should resolve issues on newest Sequoia. I will keep you updated.

Hi, having a problem with Sequoia too:

macFuse is installed and the system extension running and approved.

Hey, Thanks for your feedback. As per our docs, both rclone and macfuse needs to be installed: https://docs.s3drive.app/install/#macos_1 Quick question, have you installed Rclone? https://rclone.org/install/#macos e.g. via brew: brew install rclone We're going to update our documentation regarding NFS mount (disable it completely), as it seems we're not able to make it work properly in a reasonable time. We'd hoped that the underlying project will move it from experimental to stable eventually, but it seems it will take bit more time: https://rclone.org/commands/rclone_nfsmount/
Mount the remote as file system on a mountpoint.
Personal storage compatible with S3, WebDav and 70+ other Rclone back-ends

Hi, "As per our docs, both rclone and macfuse needs to be installed" Both tools are installed. rclone via brew and macfuse via all 20 odd steps incl rebooting and changing security stuff.

I still don't get, why a NFS related pop-up is showing, when I want to turn on macfuse+rclone functionality.

Seems, the button is connected to a NFS feature and not macfuse?

No dice unfortunately. It tries to open and then crashes pretty well immediately.

Can you try opening the console and running from the CLI? /Applications/S3Drive.app/Contents/MacOS/S3Drive You should receive similar output: [IMPORTANT:flutter/shell/platform/darwin/graphics/FlutterDarwinContextMetalSkia.mm(66)] Using the Skia rendering backend (Metal). flutter: App version: 1.10.1 flutter: App config initialized flutter: preFutureInit() flutter: Initializing auth 2 flutter: postFutureInit() flutter: initState() flutter: postInitSystemTray() flutter: postInitSchemeUrlListener() note: appStartMeasurement not available on this platform flutter: *** sqflite warning *** If something fails then it's likely it will be present in these logs.

Thanks, the: ProcessException: Not a directory error gave us some hint. 1. Can you please update to the newest release and once again provide the log? 2. Can you provide contents of the Application Support directory. E.g. command: ls -alt "/Users/matt/Library/Application Support/com.s3.drive.file.explorer.storage.cloud.manager" Please replace matt with your username. Hi, thanks, that's output of the ls command I've sent to you (and surpisingly looks fine to me), but may I get once again the output of: /Applications/S3Drive.app/Contents/MacOS/S3Drive. Thank you for your patience!

Right, missed that step. Here's the output from the CLI launch: [IMPORTANT:flutter/shell/platform/darwin/graphics/FlutterDarwinContextMetalSkia.mm(66)] Using the Skia rendering backend (Metal). 2024-11-11 09:46:27.322 S3Drive[59818:5901920] +[IMKClient subclass]: chose IMKClient_Modern 2024-11-11 09:46:27.323 S3Drive[59818:5901920] +[IMKInputSession subclass]: chose IMKInputSession_Modern flutter: App version: 1.10.1 $ /usr/local/bin/rclone --version flutter: App config initialized

Thanks, it seems there is no longer the: ProcessException: Not a directory vs previous logs, would that be right? I can also see the: /usr/local/bin/rclone --version command, is it possible that you've used disk mount feature previously? Can you actually type: /usr/local/bin/rclone --version and see whether that gives any output?

Coldstorageunit 11/11/2024 4:52 PM
Correct, that exception is gone. I have used the disk mount fearture previuosly so did install the rclone.

Wait, am I understanding that correctly, that the: ProcessException: Not a directory comes from the: /usr/local/bin/rclone --version command? Even though app shouldn't fail because of that it actually maybe the culprit. I am wondering what that is, whether malformed VFS mount cache. By any chance can you try reinstalling Rclone , so the /usr/local/bin/rclone --version command returns anything similar to this: rclone v1.65.0 - os/version: darwin 15.1 (64 bit) - os/kernel: 24.1.0 (arm64) - os/type: darwin - os/arch: arm64 (ARMv8 compatible) - go/version: go1.21.4 - go/linking: dynamic - go/tags: cmount Here are the install instructions: https://rclone.org/install/#macos-precompiled I can recommend installing it using precompiled binary method, as we haven't solved some mount issues related to Brew release.

It's strange. Trying to install the precompiled binary method and keep getting an error that /usr/local/bin/rclone is't a directory, which is strange because i can see it when i run ls in the parent directory.

I will get back to you on that. Our guess is that Rclone on startup tries to perform the VFS cache cleanup which fails for some reason. I will try to provide you one more location to check.

Looks like I'm good to go. There was some strange issue with the rclone precompiled binary install. I figured that out and the version output now works and gives the expected value. S3Drive now launches just fine.
